The lyrics for "Friend Of Mine":

Friend of Mine
Columbine, flower bloom, tenderly I sing to you.
Columbine, roseblood red, heartbreak overflow my head.
Columbine, flower bloom.
Columbine there's hope for you.
Columbine, friend of mine.
To your gain, on the mark.
With your love, love again.
Comfort peace and sweet release come from you.
Where, it's true, I hide myself in you.
Can you still hear raging guns ending dreams of precious ones.
In God' son, hope will come, his red stain will take our pain.
Columbine, friend of mine.
Peace will come to you in time.
Columbine, friend of mine.
Turn a page, to your gain.
Keep your heart on the mark.
Comfort us with your love.
Love again.
Christ of grace attend this place we look to you.
Honor you.
Fix you in our view.
Columbine, flower bloom.
Tenderly I sing to you.
Columbine, roseblood red, heartbreak overflows my head.
Columbine, friend of mine.
Peace will come to you in time.
Columbine, friend of mine.

A Song Of Hope

lyrics for "A Song of Hope":
(this may not be the exact lyrics as
I had to try to figure them out by
listening to the song)

life without hope
a future no more
how could this happen
we all need to know

what could push children
to murder their own
where are their parents
are they breaking their homes

a joyous spring day
against the mountains of peace
when everything changed
like a breeze through the trees
death and destruction
prevailed in there
our lives and our innocence
under attack

questions are many
answers are few
who knows just what sealed
the fates of those two

many lost their lives
but death not in vain
for the rest of the living
sing a quiet refrain

life is to precious
badtimes are few
so never take for granted
the gift given to you

The song was brought to my attention by Dano who represents
Ann Sabra. Here is what he said about it:
I represent Ann Sabra, a local Denver artist who just recently
finished a dedication song for the Columbine Tragedy. This song
is being marketed both nationally and internationally as an
attempt to help heal the loss due to senseless violence.

lyrics for "One More Chance":

I lost my heart today
The day you went away
And I wish I could explain how I feel
You were my everything
The simple joy you'd bring
You were my angel with golden wings

All the times we've shared
The joy and the sorrow
Will remain forever in my heart

I celebrate you
I love you
I want the world to share
My sadness without you
Give me one more chance
To say goodbye

I pray the world will stand
Join together hand in hand
And forget the differences we share
I need to let you know
I'll never let you go
Even if I never understand

All the times ahead
I'll be strong for tomorrow
Your memory forever in my soul

I celebrate you
I love you
I want the world to share
My sadness without you
Give me one more chance
To say goodbye

Oh, I need you to know
What you've done for me
What you've shown to me
What you've meant to me
Give me one more chance

I celebrate you
I love you
I want the world to share
My sadness without you
Give me one more chance
To say goodbye

lyrics for "You Went Home At Lunchtime":

They burned down all the bridges that lead out of this town
They stopped all the clocks that tell us the time
I haven't seen you in a while
Can't believe that you're gone
You were barely even here
You went home at lunchtime

He turned to you and asked a question
You said yes 'cause yes was the truth
Well he cannot take your God away
And now you'll always have your youth

Even here in Little Town
Lights go out and friends fall down
Things go wrong and folks are found wanting
Wanting you to tell them what you said
Tell them yes
Tell everybody yes
Tell everybody you went home at lunchtime

There beside the shining sea enshrouded in tranquility
I can almost see you
Then someone takes you by the hand
You look to see the loving man
Welcome home
You went home at lunchtime

I Will Remember You
This was done by Sarah Mclachlan
you can also download a .WAV file (although it is in a strange
WAV format (format 85) that you may not be able to play) at:
http://members.tripod.com/Starbreez7/columbine/tribute.html

lyrics:
I will remember you
will you remember me?
don't let your life pass you by
weep not for the memories

remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from us when things got bad
now clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun
wanna feel your warmth upon me, I wanna be the one

I will remember you
will you remember me?
don't let your life pass you by
weep not for the memories

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
standin' on the edge of something much too deep
it's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
we are screaming inside, but we can't be heard

but I will remember you
will you remember me?
don't let your life pass you by
weep not for the memories

I'm so afraid to love you, but more afraid to loose
clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose
once there was a darkness, deep and endless night
you gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light

and I will remember you
will you remember me?
don't let your life pass you by
weep not for the memories

and I will remember you
will you remember me?
don't let your life pass you by
weep not for the memories
weep not for the memories

Blowin' Me Away
This song was brought to my attention by Barbara Brown, who
works with the band SLO. The song was written as a result of
the shooting at Columbine. This is not a 'memorial song',
but instead takes a different perspective as she explains:
"Instead of quiet memorial to the victims it poses tough
questions to the shooters. It takes a basic, down to earth
look at the shooters and really tries to get into their
heads."

their web page at:

Lyrics for "Blowin' Me Away":

Blowin’ Me Away
Once again they’re all crying
On the TV screen
Like something you never seen
The cops and cameras
Catch the kids at the scene
They put it out like a bad dream
The little swastikas
Done no one no good
You oughta look in your history books
Now you coulda been perfect you know
Ripe for the Gestapo
Chorus:
Blowin’ me away
What’s that sound in your head
Is it all you can hear?
Is it something that I said?
Blowin’ me away
It’s OK from here
You won’t take it away
And you’re blowin’ me away

It don’t take long they’re playin’
King on the hill
Giving their buddies a cheap thrill
The little Hitlers come in guns to the hilt
Looking for anything to kill
Refrain
Repeat chorus
Blowin’ me away
What’s that sound?
Blowin’ me away
What’s that sound?

Love's The Only House
by: Martina McBride
This was done after the Columbine tragedy for those
affected by the pain caused by it.

lyrics for "Love's The Only House":

I was standing in the grocery store line
The one they marked express
When this woman came through with about 25 things
And I said don't you know that more is less
She said this world is moving so fast
But I just get more behind with every day
And every morning when I make my coffee
I can't believe my life's turned out this way
All I could say was

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain

He was walking by the other day and I said
Hey baby how you been?
Yeah I got me a little girl now and she's 4 years old
And she's got her daddy's little grin
And you only want what you can't have
And baby you can't have me now
I gave my heart to another
Yeah I'm a mother and he's a father
And we've got each other
And I found out the hard way that

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain

You drive three miles from all this prosperity
Down across the river and you see a ghetto there
And we got children walking around with guns
And they got knives with drugs and pain to spare
And here I am in my clean, white shirt
With a little money in my pocket and a nice warm home
And we got teenagers walkin' around in a culture of darkness
Livin' together alone, and all I can

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain

And I can't explain it and I can't understand
But I'll come down and get my hands dirty and together we'll make a stand
Somewhere cross the parking lot some bands playin' out of tune
City streets are gonna burn if we don't do something soon
And senorita can't quit cryin, baby's due now any day
Don Juan left, got sick of tryin'
No one there to show him the way she came down to the grocery store and
She said I, I wanna buy a little carton of milk but I don't have any money
I said hey I'll cover you honey cause the pain's gotta go somewhere
Yeah the pain's gotta go someplace
So come on down to my house
Don't you know that

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain

Lullaby For Columbine
by: Michael Tamburello

A number of years ago Michael decided to write a lullaby for
his young daughter. It was his gift to her in celebration of
the joy she brought into his life and the lives of many others.
she was looking toward beginning high school and was shaken
during the aftermath that followed that tragic day.

Both of them were impassioned to do something to quell the pain
had inflicted itself upon their home Nina chose to give away
her musical heirloom with a name change.

you can get a MP3 of the song from his page at:

Lyrics For "I Never Will Forget":
[various news clips]

I never will forget
What I heard that day
The way they all died,
What a price to pay

A careless act of war
on innocent lives
Caught in the rage
Of images and lies

When does one becomes so empty?
To take another life
And their love has gone away...
We must reach out to our children
And learn from Yesterday

When does one becomes so empty?
To take another life
And their love has gone away...
We must reach out to our children
And learn from Yesterday

Should we bear the blame?
Is this our shame
Lives that were lost
Through the blood and the pain

And though you're not here anymore
We all must go on
May we learn from the price you paid
And put an end to these wrongs

When does one becomes so empty?
To take another life
And their love has gone away...
We must reach out to our children
And learn from Yesterday

When does one becomes so empty?
To take another life
And their love has gone away...
We must reach out to our children
And learn from Yesterday

I Never Never Never Will Forget
I Never Will Forget

What I Had To See
By: The eRnieS

This song was originally named 'NoFX', but was renamed to 'What
I Had To See' on their new album.
Note: Due to the original song name of 'NoFX', this song has been
mistakenly posted on the net as being by the group 'NoFX'...
in reality it was made by 'The eRnieS' - A German Punkrock band.

Thanks to: Waldi (of The eRnieS) for the info on it!

Lyrics:
When i came home today
I turned on my tv
And it made me really shocked
What I had to see

I saw a lot of children die
I saw how their mothers cried
Well I saw all the pain
And I nearly gone insane

When i came home today
I turned on my tv
And it made me really shocked
What I had to see

I saw the soldiers march so proud
For their fatherland
I saw a little boy
With a gun in his hand

So look around you
What the world has to offer
So look around you
How we have to suffer

When i came home today
I turned on my tv
And it made me really shocked
What I had to see

Its Your Time
By: Micheal W. Smith

Here's what mr. Smith said about the song:
"'This Is Your Time' is an important record to me personally,"
"I wrote the title cut after participating in the memorial service for
Columbine High School students in Littleton, Colorado. The song was
inspired by Cassie Bernall, the student who said she believed in God
and lost her life for it. It was her time, and now I believe it's our
time to pick up the torch and live our faith boldly."

The Kinslayer
By: Nightwish

The song was brought to my attention a visitor to my page...
here's what they said about it:

hello i was on your website about columbine , it's really interesting . The
most complete i've ever seen . But i just wanted to tell you , you forgot
that Nightwish also made a song about Columbine , it's called "The
Kinslayer" ...

A 2nd visitor was able to provide the following:

Hi

When I was searching for the song Nightwish - The Kinslayer I came across
your website. It's one of my favorite songs and when listening to the lyrics
I got the feeling it was about some event. So I did some research and found
out it was about the Columbine High School shooting. I did some more
research to what the lyrics mean exactly and because of that I like the song
even more. I saw you didnt have the lyrics on your site, so here they are
(below). The last 4 lines arent actually part of the song, but they are
always printed with the lyrics. I found a very nice explaination of the
lyrics on this site (its currently down, but I'm sure it'll be back soon):
http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=37963

Best regards,
Jarno

Lyrics:
For whom the gun tolls
For whom the prey weeps
Bow before a war
Call it religion

Some wounds never heal
Some tears never will
Dry for the unkind
Cry for mankind

Even the dead cry
- Their only comfort
Kill your friend, I don't care
Orchid kids, blinded stare

Need to understand
No need to forgive
No truth no sense left to be followed

"Facing this unbearable fear like meeting an old friend"
"Time to die, poor mates, You made me what I am!"

"In this world of a million religions everyone prays the same way"
"Your praying is in vain It`ll all be over soon"
"Father help me, save me a place by your side!"
"There is no god Our creed is but for ourselves"

"Not a hero unless you die Our species eat the wounded ones"

"Drunk with the blood of your victims
I do feel your pity-wanting pain,
Lust for fame, a deadly game"

"Run away with your impeccable kin!"

"- Good wombs hath borne bad sons..."
Cursing, God, why?
Falling for every lie
Survivors' guilt
In us forevermore

15 candles
Redeemers of this world
Dwell in hypocrisy:
"How were we supposed to know?"

-4 pink ones
-9 blue ones
-2 black ones

- In memory of the Redeemers 20.4.1999

Cassie
By: Flyleaf

The song was brought to my attention a visitor to my page...
here's what he said about it:

Hey,
While listening to the music of band I had just heard, I read the lyrics and
it sounded like what happened at Columbine. I checked it out and sure enough
the title of the song was "Cassie." I didnt know if she was the girl who was
asked if she believed in god before she was shot. I found your site and seen
the info on Cassie Bernall and noticed that you had listed songs related to
her situation. I was wondering if possibly you wanted to post this song as
one of them. The bands name is "Flyleaf", the title of the song is "Cassie."
I dont know the bands official site but I do frequent their fan site at
www.flyleaffans.com. ...

another visitor to this page provided the following info & the lyrics!:

There is a new song out, that I believe is about Cassie Bernall. The
first song on the CD is starting to get play on Octane ( Sirrus
satellite radio)
It is called Cassie by Flyleaf.

Thanks,
Steve
Minnesota

Lyrics:
The question asked in order
To save her life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes would make it

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

All heads are bowed in silence
To remember her last sentence
She answered him knowing what would happen
Her last words still hanging in the air
In the air

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

How many will die
I will die
I, I will say yes

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger
Do you believe in God
Do you believe in God
Do you believe in God
And I will pull the trigger

Can We Lay Down The Guns?
By: Nell Bradford

The song was brought to my attention by its artist!...
here's what she said about it:

Hello, my name is: Mrs. Nell Bradford and I am a wife & mother of our
autistic son,whom I home school.
The day that I heard about the shooting; I got chills down my spine and I
turned to God for prayer. God gave me a song that day titled: "Can We Lay
Down The Guns?
My prayers go out to you and all the families of Columbine High School and
may the Lord heal you all and turn you sadness into joy.
Please pass my email and website over to the families, I would love to hear
from them and I hope you all enjoy the song.
When and if you visit my website, you will hear the song playing
continually.
I dedicate this song to young people, all over the world, who carry guns and
maybe they will have a change of heart, when they hear it, and maybe they
will ask Jesus for forgiveness; and he will teach them to lay down their
guns.

Peace be to you and all the families that suffered a lost that day.
When you get a chance please visit my

What Kind Of Love
By: Ajalon

Randy from the band let me know about this one...
It was directly inspired by the shootings.

Visit the band's website at:
http://www.ajalon.net/music.htm

Lyrics:

What Kind Of Love

What kind of war are we fighting
What kind of fools are we thought
When will the fighting be over
What is the reason we fought
Why have we forsaken our brothers
What reason can show we were right
What kind of man can justify slaughter
in the face of our children. Why have we decided to

lay down in the face of confusion,
to walk in the darkness, run away from the Light
when a lame man with the Love of his Saviour
can rise up and walk into Eternity’s Light
Rise up!
What kind of Love can set us free
What kind of Love...

What kind of Love can lead a world into Eternity
What kind of Love can lead a world into Eternity
What kind of Love can change a world
in the depths of derision to a Kingdom of Life
What kind of Love...

What kind of life are we living
in the shadow of certian demise
When will our suffering be broken
When will the wrongs be made right
Why have we chosen to shelter
ourselves in the house our sin
When will we fall on our face in repentance and
open our eyes, why have we decided to

lay down in the face of confusion,
to walk in the darkness, run away from the Light
when a lame man with the Love of his Saviour
can rise up and walk into Eternity’s Light
Rise up!
What kind of Love can set us free
What kind of Love...

What kind of Love can lead a world into Eternity
What kind of Love can lead a world into Eternity
What kind of Love can change a world
in the depths of derision to a Kingdom of Life
What kind of Love...

Why have we decided to...

lay down in the face of confusion,
to walk in the darkness, run away from the Light
when a lame man with the Love of his Saviour
can rise up and walk into Eternity’s Light
Rise up!
What kind of Love can set us free
What kind of Love...

What kind of Love can lead a world into Eternity
What kind of Love can lead a world into Eternity
What kind of Love can change a world
in the depths of derision to a Kingdom of Life
What kind of Love...
