We Can Make It
this song was suggested by Andy Stephens,
it is not specifically a 'Columbine Song', but
the lyrics are fitting for this.

Written by David Sikes, Tom Scholz.
and Peter Cedro for the band BOSTON
off the WALK ON album by MCA records

lyrics for "We Can Make It":

I would do anything, anything a man can do
You're my strength and weakness
I give it all for you
I would climb any mountain
How can I make you see?
Though the stars may fall, it will always be you and me

The light in your eyes is all the hope I need
There's so much you can give
Your smile is my reason to live

Just take my hand, we'll make a stand
I know that we can make it
(Hey) It's you and me. The world will see
I know that we can make it, you and me

I see you, full of sadness
Wondering 'bout this world we've made
There's a space between us all
Love has seen some better days

Oh we can make it
Oh we can make it

The love in your eyes is all I need to know
I'm never letting go
I'm here for you heart and soul

Just take my hand, we'll make a stand
I know that we can make it
(Hey) It's you and me, the world will see
I know that we can make it
I know that we can make it (Hey, yeah)

Just take my hand, we'll make a stand
I know that we can make it
(Hey) It's you and me. The world will see
I know that we can make it
I know that we can make it
You and me

Brother Up In Heaven
by: Alan Parsons
Written by: Ian Bairnson
Dedicated to Erik Mounsey 1965-1994

lyrics:
A boy flies for freedom
But dies for the peace
In the clouds, he waits for an answer
But there's no release

It's strange here without you
And it's so hard to see
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

Oh brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

I still see his shadow
His laugh lingers on
When I dream, we're all back together
When I wake, he's gone
It's strange here without you
This was not ment to be
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

And though we try to change the world
A flower when it's cut will surely die
So why do men with so much hate
Destroy what they cannot create
While we all stand by

We will look back in anger
But you helped us to see
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

Oh brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

One Day To Fly
by: Alan Parsons
Written by Ian Bairnson, Scott English

Lyrics:
Where does a dream belong
Locked in the mind on the edge of time
Like a ship lost in a storm
How do we find the key
Longing to see, through the artist's eye
Maybe only birds can fly

The man must be insane, who knows
A mind alive with images so strange
So close but never rode the sky

Watching the birds as they sail on the wind
Trying to figure out the reason why
Picturing wings held together with string
One day to fly

Someone said I believe
Try if you dare, you can walk on air
A dream is all you need
A circle that takes you high
Lighter than air as the Earth goes by
Through a spiral in the sky

The man must be insane, who knows
A mind alive with images so strange
So close but never rode the sky

Watching the birds as they sail on the wind
Trying to figure out the reason why
Picturing wings held together with string
One day to fly

Just a charcoal sketch on canvas
Made them laugh but now they see
That the artist had a vision
That the wind could set us free
It's a bridge until tomarrow
Taking us beyond the Sun
As the artist paints his picture
The story's just begun

Analyzing, criticizing
Fear of the unknown
Theorizing, visualizing
The road to take us home
If it takes forever
Someone's gonna fly
We may never get to Heaven
But still we're gonna try

Watching the birds
As they sail on the wind
One day to fly

The Very Last Time
by: Alan Parsons
Written by: Ian Bairnson

lyrics:
I need to remember the day
When we said goodbye for the very last time
There was still so much to say
But time came between us and quietly stole you away

Let me remember the day
We walk to the garden and sit for a while
The hours are slipping away
Still I try to hold them and freeze them in time
So leave me believing we'll meet here again
Promise me some kind of sign

As each day turns into night
I blow out the candle and turn down the sheet
And now that you've risen so high
I know that you watch over me as I sleep
Always believing we'll meet up again
Waiting for some kind of sign

So now I remember the day
When we said goodbye for the very last time
But no one can take you away
'Cause here in my memories there's never a very last time
Never a very last time.

Stole
by: Kelly Rowland

this song was suggested by Amanda.. here's what she said about it:

I saw your website and thought a good song would be "Stole" by Kelly
Rowland. It talks about young people and how their lives were stolen. One
from suicide, another from a shootout, and the last one from rape. The music
video is very touching and I thought that it would serve as a great reminder
to how the victims of not only Columbine, but school shootings everywhere,
of how their lives were stole. Thanks.

Amanda

Who Knew
by: Eminem

this song (and the following one) were suggested by Jeff.. here's what he
said about them:

I would also like to suggest a couple of songs that, to me, is fitting to
what happened and its impact. "Who Knew"(which basicially addresses music's
role[or lack thereof] in incidents like this) and "Solider"(which reminds me
of Eric and Dylan) by Eminem.

Jeff

its about a boy who was picked on... one day he brings
a gun to school and shoots himself in front of the class

-this song was done by the band 'Pearl Jam' in 1992 and
is based on a true story.

Columbine
By: Pamela Zero

I originally had this incorrectly listed as "a song made for
Columbine"
it is actually about the Columbine Flower, and was made a few
years before the tragedy at CHS.
(Thanks to Pamela for the correction...very much appreciated)
