Groundbreaking for the permanent Columbine Memorial was held in the late afternoon of Friday June 16, 2006. Dawn Anna Beck (Lauren Townsend's mother) gave a speech in memory of the 13 victims Former US President Bill Clinton was at the groundbreaking as well, and also gave a speech in memory of those lost. Raccoon Creek Golf Club had put out an offer that it would macth anyone who donated $50,000 to the memorial fund... Clinton took them up on it!! ---------- During the ceremony a small thunderstorm moved through, almost as if mother nature was showing she remembered what happened that day.... | ||
